VitrX is set to continue its promise to support charities during 2017. Starting with a cause close to our CEO’s heart, Cancer Ninja’s.
Cancer Ninja’s in support of Cancer Research
Why Cancer Ninja’s?
In December 2016, Sharon Horlock, sadly lost her brave battle to cancer. Sharon was a close personal friend of Vince O’Hanlon, VitrX CEO.
This disease affects us all and we want to be part of the solution, assisting where we can by fundraising as a team and contributing directly to Cancer Ninjas, the fundraising initiative for Cancer Research UK in Sharon’s memory.
Why Cancer Research?
Cancer Research UK expects around two million people to be diagnosed with cancer in the UK during the length of the next parliament according to new figures.
“Tackling cancer and achieving world class outcomes for people across the country must be a priority.” – Sarah Woolnough, Cancer Research UK
The charity estimates that the yearly number of those given a cancer diagnosis will exceed 400,000 by 2020, climbing from an annual figure of around 357,000 in 2014.
The figures, calculated for 2017 to 2021, reveal the increasing number of people who will need to be diagnosed, treated and cared for by an already struggling health service.
Cancer Research won’t stop until every cancer is beaten. We are proud to be supporting this charity.
